The Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA) Eastern Region, in partnership with the Filamer Christian University Bachelor of Science in Nursing Alumni Association, Inc. and co-hosted by the Filamer Christian University–College of Nursing (FCU–CN), conducted SALIN KAALAMAN, a professional knowledge-sharing forum, Thursday, January 16 at the FCU Roblee Hall.

The forum was held under the theme “From Education to Practice: Transforming Nursing Through Equity, Compassion, and Innovation,” and brought together nursing professionals, educators, and students from Aklan State University, College of St. John - Roxas, St. Anthony College of Roxas, Inc., Capiz Emmanuel Hospital, and Filamer Christian University.

The program formally opened with a musical invocation performed by the FCU Chorale, followed by a welcome address by Dean Nelly Guillen, who highlighted the role of collaborative learning and professional dialogue in strengthening nursing education. Dr. Erlyn Beup delivered the opening remarks, focusing on the objectives of Salin Kaalaman as a platform for sharing professional experience and practice-based knowledge.

Additional opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Warly Remegio, Vice President of PNAA Eastern Region and founder of Salin Kaalaman, who emphasized the importance of student-centered learning, mentorship, and leadership development within the nursing profession.

The event proper began with a lecture by Dr. Dula F. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Remegio on the role of academic–practice partnerships in fostering a culture of professional excellence, which underscored collaboration between educational institutions and healthcare providers.

Mental health concerns among healthcare workers were addressed by Dr. Teresita Medina, who discussed the care of caregivers, focusing on mental health challenges and suicide risk among healthcare professionals. Mary Dedeen M. Orola then presented on the role of frontline nurses in transforming quality care at the bedside, citing patient safety, clinical competence, and evidence-based practice as key factors in care delivery.

The lecture series concluded with Dr. Nikunjkumar J. Patel, who discussed trends and breakthroughs in diabetes care, providing updates relevant to both academic instruction and clinical practice.

Intermission numbers were staged between lecture segments, featuring electrifying sing and dance performances by FCU–CN students and a violin performance by Mr. Arnel Heremias. The program concluded with a Plenary Session and Open Forum, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers.

The forum intends to support continuing professional development and encourage dialogue between nursing education and practice, reinforcing shared responsibility in advancing the profession.
